Homework revision
1. Deliver your speech (150-200 words) orally or record a video on one of the following topics:
- Awarding diplomas in the assembly hall;
- Presenting your project;
- Announcing winners;
- Receiving an award;
- Being host of the event (e.g., Birthday party/literary evening/etc.);
- Raising funds (e.g., for the Armed Forces of Ukraine);
- Being a lawyer (e.g., defending a student who does not attend classes for a long time).
Please use "16 useful tips to overcome your fear of public speaking".
Class Work
Scan "The 35 Greatest Speeches in History". Choose several speeches and give the gist of each; compare them and answer the questions:
How exactly did each speech change the world?
What consequences did they lead to?
What impressed you the most? Give examples from the speech by quoting fragments.

2. Which speaker has the most encouraging speech, in your opinion? Why?
3. Did speakers use all three means of persuasion?
4. What consequences did the speeches of these people lead to?
5. Which speech do you like/don't like the most? Why?
1. How did those people deliver their speeches? What was specific about them?
2. Have you ever needed to inspire, motivate, and influence many people by delivering a speech? If not, would you like to have this power?
3. Did any of those people inspire you to follow their lead?
4. Was any information new to you?
5. Was it interesting to learn about these people and their stories? Why? Why not?
