5 steps to write your speech

Step 1: Select Topic


  • Select a topic you care about

  • Select a topic you know a lot about (or can learn about)

  • Choose a topic that is interesting to the audience

  • Narrow the topic

The central idea is the basic message of your speech expressed in one sentence.

It is the message your listeners go away with. 

Every speech should have only one central idea.
